Lodhi Gardens is a 90 acre park in South Delhi. It is also the site for certain historical structures. Mohammed Shah’s tomb is the oldest structure at the site, and is believed to be built in 1444. Another famous structure is the tomb of Sikander Lodhi, which was built by his son Ibrahim Lodhi, the last sultan from the Lodhi Dynasty. Other structures at the site are Sheesh Gumbad and Bara Gumbad.
The gardens at the site were originally landscaped by Lady Willingdon, the wife of the then Governor – General of India, in 1936, and were inaugurated on 09th Apr. 1936. The gardens were later re-landscaped in 1968 by J A Stein along with Garrett Eckbo.
